With the growth of globaI energy consumption, increasing emphasis must be placed on power supply reliability. With the strengthening of environmental protection, the number of various birds is increasing rapidly every year: birds coexist with humans who must also take up the responsibility of protecting birds. However, bird nests can affect power lines, therefore increasing economic losses and safety risks in the power industry. The problem of bird nesting in the power grid is a safety hazard and presents a very concerning issue. To address this challenge our company designs a specialized ultrasonic bird repelller for power distribution lines. It uses an CT energy harvesting + solar power supply system, intelligent energy storage control module and highly accurate bird recognition algorithm to intelligently identify and repel birds.
Power Supply | solar power + batter (CT energy harvesting) | sensor | infrared |
Ultrasonic frequency | 15.5-45.5kHz | Radius of action | 0-8 meters |
laser burst light | Red, Green | radius of action | 0-5 meters |
Ambient temperature | -40 ~ 65°C | Service life | 3-5 years |
Start-up value | Current > 5A | Battery | 3.7V 4AH |
Product size | 160x100x68mm | Product weight | 0.7kg |
Operating Conditions
The maximum ambient teemperature is 158°F; the minimum temperature is -40°F, and the daily average temperature should not exceed 104 "F. Operating altitude is below 2000m with environmental humidity between 15% and 95%.
1. Overhead Distribution Lines (common nest locations)
Bird's nests can easily appear on corner towers and towers with pole switches. Due to the special characteristics of towers with multiple corners and switches, the material found in bird nests may become a conductor and cause a short circuit or a breaker to trip during rain or when encountering nightly condensation. This bird repeller is installed about 6 feet away from the tower pole, facing the corner lines and switches, and has a suitable bird repelling range. This bird repeller is small, easy to install when energized, and has noticeable bird repelling effect.
2. Special transmission structure (complex towers)
On some special transmission towers, when monitoring equipment, transformers, switches, or multiple sets of cross lines need to be installed, alarge proportion of bird nesits appear in these places while the power reliability requirements are very high. Under these conditions, bird repellers for distribution lines can be installed to conveniently drive birds away and increase power reliability.
1. Device can be installed while energized, and with suitable installation location: Use insulating rods to install on high-voltage lines. The installation position is 6 to 9 feet away from the cross arm. This keeps the bird landing zone within range and the bird repelling effect noticeable.
2. Diversified, three-dimensiional and intelligent bird repelling methods: The ultrasonic wave of this bird repeller can automatically convert from low frequency to high frequency. The wave performs a 3D scan of the repelling range and interferes with a bird's nervous and physiological systems. Intelligent control of visual stimulation from strobe light flashes causes physiological discomfort to birds for the purpose of driving them away.
3. Optimized design to avoid affecting people, but with noticeable bird deterrence effect: When the bird repeller does not account for its effect on people, the strength of the bird repeller becomes directly proportional to the severity of the disturbance. Such bird repellers are simple and crude. Our bird repeller uses physical effects to repel birds, such as ultrasonic frequency that exceed 15KHz, which is in the upper edge of the audible frequency range of the human car. The controlled low-frequency ultrasonic wave and strobe light use directional and optimized distance sensing to minimize disturbance to surrounding area. The ultrasonic wave is completeely inaudible outside 25 feet. The strobe light effect becomes more subdued when over 15 feet away. To a large extent, any disturbance to nearby residents is minimized.
4. Built-in high-precision infraired probe ensure the accurate identification of birds: the bird repeller has a built-in infrared probe to conduct infrared detection of the coverage area. When' a bird enters the detection range, the bird repeller will automatically emit ultrasonic waves and strobe lights to drive away birds crossing or lingering within range, while simultaneously minimizing its energy consumption.
5. Combination of solar power and battery control system lower cost: Because this bird repeller is not in continuous operation, the bird repeller battery pack is optimized to ensure functionality when birds are within range and recharges when none are nearby, which allows the device to fully carry its bird repelling capabilities reduce production costs and increase operational life.
This product is suitable for use on overhead power lines. Before installation, inspect product for visible damage. Then, turn on the power switch, and the strobe light willl start to flash after detectinig that a human is nearby. The installer should use special insulation tools to install the bird repeller on the overhead line, as climbing poles are needed to reach electric poles. The operation is carried out at a safe distance from the middle of the transmission tower, so the bird repelling equipment is installed 6 to 9 feet away from the crosss arm, with the direction of the ultrasonic horn aligned with the cross arm and the pole. When the bird repeller can no longer detect people on the overhead distribution line, it will cease operation after 36 seconds.
Step 1: Prepare the bird repellent, installation tools, and corresponding grade insulation rods. |
Step 2: Install and fix the installation tools and insulation rods. | Step 3: Prepare the bird repellent installation. |
Step 4: Turn on the switch at the bottom of the bird repellent first | Step 5: The flashing light and ultrasonic speaker work | Step 6: Put the bird repellent into the tool and fix it with the lever as shown in the picture |
Step 7: The bird repellent presses down the spring, and the lever clamps the upper plane. | Step 8: The bird repellent fixes the spring and the hook | Step 9: The lever clamps to the lower fixed lever |
Step 10: The bird repellent and the tool are in a good position, 1-3 cm away from the high-voltage line, and press upward with force. | Step 11: The bird repellent fixing spring clamps the high-voltage line, and the hooks on both sides return to the outside. | Step 12: After taking the tool directly down, the bird repellent is fixed on the high-voltage line, and the direction of the horn and light is the direction of the bird repellent. |
